Used Motor Oil/Filters and Cooking Oil

CURBSIDE RECYCLING OF COOKING OIL, AUTOMOTIVE FLUIDS
AND MOTOR OIL FILTERS

Set out up to three one-gallon jugs total and three filters curbside for pick-up on your regular collection day.

 

AUTOMOTIVE FLUIDS COLLECTION PROGRAM:

(DO NOT MIX AUTOMOTIVE FLUIDS AND COOKING OIL IN THE SAME CONTAINER)

  • Accepted fluids: Used crankcase fluid, differential fluid, hydraulic fluid, lubricant oil, motor oil, and transmission fluid.
  • Anti-freeze and brake fluid are not accepted curbside. These items need to be disposed of as hazardous waste. Click here for more info. 
  • Customers may use their own 1-gallon, screw top container.
  • Top must securely close.
  • Oil filters must be in clear zipper-lock style bags.
  • Place on curb (not in the gutter) next to carts for collection.

COOKING OIL RECYCLING PROGRAM

(DO NOT MIX AUTOMOTIVE FLUIDS AND COOKING OIL IN THE SAME CONTAINER)

  • Used cooking oil can be placed curbside next to the organics cart in a screw-top plastic container that is no taller than 12 inches in height.
  • The original cooking oil container can be used if it meets these specifications.
  • Please label the container “Cooking Oil”.

Twice a year, CVSan offers a Filter Exchange Program where participants who recycle their used motor oil and filters can receive a coupon for a free oil filter. Contact us or visit here for used oil program information.
