Bring the family to our Spring Market, an outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment experience adjacent to the Park Street corridor. The Spring Market will feature curated vendors & purveyors with goods and foods for sale, interactive community booths, live music, spring vibes, and tasty beverages for everyone’s enjoyment. Alameda Bike Festival 2026

Bring your friends and family to the 2026 free annual citywide bike festival for people of all ages! FREE activities include: Bike repairs (First-come, first-served. Priority to kids’ bikes; adult bikes also welcome.), helmet fitting and giveaway, free bike goodies, food trucks, music, and safe riding workshops for kids, families, teens, and adults during the event (pre-registration required) Click here for more info.

These fun-filled events will start at 6:30 p.m. with pre-show festivities including games and crafts for kids. Our featured movie will start between 8:15 pm and 8:45 pm, depending on the darkness. Snacks and food are available for purchase, and proceeds support the Teen Program. Bring your lawn chairs & blankets and enjoy!

Alameda Walks Beginning

Lace up your walking shoes, gather your family, friends, and neighbors, and join us on an hour-long walk on designated Saturday mornings of each month, May through October! Rain or Shine! All walks begin at 9:00 a.m. and last approximately one hour. Where walks are longer, they will be noted, and new walks are indicated. Look for the red Alameda Walks hats! While we love furry pets, we prefer that they wait for you at home.

58th Annual Sand Castle & Sculpture Contest
Saturday, June 20 • 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Robert Crown Memorial State Beach, Otis and Westline Drives, Alameda, 94501

This FREE event is a fabulous family-friendly activity to either participate in or just come down to watch all the action! Start your creative juices flowing and bring your shovel, buckets, and great ideas to the beach to create a unique piece of art in the sand.

  • Registration begins at 9:00 am on the day of the event and closes at 11:00 am
  • The contest starts at 9:00 am and ends at 12:00 noon
  • Judging starts at 12:00 noon until approximately 1:00 pm
  • Structures must be completed by the 12:00 noon deadline time or upon the arrival of the first judge
  • Awards ceremony at 1:00 pm

REAP Climate Center
Regular Open House & Volunteer Days
Wednesday 2:00pm to sunset & Sundays 10:00am to sunset

Come volunteer at REAP Climate Center during our Open House and Volunteer hours! REAP’s campus is open to the public Sundays from 10 am to sunset and Wednesdays from 2 pm to sunset. Feel free to drop in at any time, and stay as long as you like. We always have staff ready to guide you through a fun set of volunteer-friendly tasks. Before arriving, please read through our volunteer page and FAQ, and sign our online waiver. Some possibilities include: watering, planting, compost building, animal maintenance, light construction or fabrication, and heavy construction. One thing we ask prior to visiting is filling out our WAIVER. Click here for more info.
