Both web sites provide free services to help reduce unwanted mail. You can opt out of catalogs, coupons, credit card offers, phone books, circulars & more.
Reduce Litter
Avoid overloading your Recyclables, Organics, and Garbage carts/bins. Keep lids closed when possible. Bag or box small and light-weight items to keep them from blowing away during collection.
Reuse Rather than Dispose
Items you no longer want might be of use to someone else. Consider donating any item in good condition to a local charity. You could also sell items through a local consignment store. Here are some links:

Dispose of E-Waste Right
Computers, printers, televisions, fax machines, VCRs, stereo components, video game players, and other forms of e-waste contain hazardous substances and require special handling. Residents can deliver e-waste to any number of free collection sites.

Dispose of Sharps Safely
Needles, lances, and other sharps require special handling and are NOT allowed in your Recyclables, Organics, or Garbage containers. Sharps users should ask their doctor or pharmacist about available disposal options. Recycle Used Motor Oil & Filters
Used oil is toxic and is not allowed inside any ACI cart or bin. Make sure it is safely recycled by taking it to the Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste Facility or to any certified collection center. For a list of collection centers, visit:www.CalRecycle.ca.gov
